What began as a small operation in Breckenridge-Wahpeton has grown into a reliable commercial roofing partner across the state by sticking to our values: trust, honesty, and reliable quality.

1927

Twin City Roofing Co. is founded by B.J. “Bud” Williams. Built on honest work and craftsmanship, specializing in “hot tar roofs.” The company began serving the Wahpeton-Breckenridge area, laying the groundwork for a reputation that would last generations. 

1931

The original office and warehouse was constructed in Wahpeton. Only a few years later, an addition was constructed, doubling the size of the original facility due to rapid growth.

1951

O.L. “Hoot” Harr joins the company, bringing the same pride, reliability, and care that defined Twin City Roofing from the start. In 1953, he was relocated to Mandan to establish operations in Central ND to better serve its customers

1956

Jack Williams joins the company and is instrumental in developing the cost-accounting, job costing, and budget procedures the company still uses today.

1964

The companies are incorporated. Bud Williams becomes majority stockholder with Jack Williams and Hoot Harr holding minority shares in the business.

1968

Bud Williams retires, Jack Williams and Hoot Harr obtain joint ownership of his stock.

1972

Collin Prochnow is hired and begins modernizing the company’s accounting, payroll, and job costing functions.

1975

A warehouse is built in Dickinson, strengthening our ability to serve customers across Western North Dakota – without taking shortcuts or compromising quality.

1979

Marv Miller joins Twin City Roofing as general manager, continuing the tradition of doing the work right and standing behind it. That same year, TCR becomes an authorized applicator for Carlisle sure-seal rubber roof membranes ushering in the era of single-ply roof systems done right and continuing our “Quality Always” mindset.

1982

Twin City Roofing becomes an approved applicator for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company’s building products division diversifying the company’s membrane roof systems product offerings.

1986

Scott Harr began his career in the field, learning the trade hands-on before moving into sales and management.

1991

Marv Miller and Scott Harr begin purchasing shares from “Hoot” Harr, ensuring the company remained locally owned and guided by those who know the work inside and out.

2018

Marv Miller announces his retirement. His shares are purchased by Scott Harr and Jason Geigle. Jason is promoted to Vice President, continuing the company’s tradition of leadership grown from within the team.

2023

Scott Harr announces his retirement.

2025

Jason Geigle becomes the sole owner to carry forward what Twin City Roofing was built on: quality workmanship, dependable service, and a promise that our word means something.
